The Weligama Coast offers a surfing experience unlike many in the world and the village of Gurubebila is central to all the best things you have heard of travelling and surfing the South west coast of the wonderful country of Sri Lanka.

With the main town park overlooking Coconut Beach, Coconut Point and world Famous plantations there are surf breaks ideal for learners all the way to intermediate with consistent swell that rolls in morning and afternoons with some of the most memorable sunrises and sunsets you will ever be embraced by. With one of the most photographed coastlines in the world you take a short Tuk-Tuk or scooter ride from Gurubebila to Jungle Beach to world famous lazy left, lazy right, rams and Devils Rock and Weligama main beach itself.

The surf season is generally considered to commence in August and finish in March. For many the end of the season finishes just around the time of the celebration of the Sri Lankan Sinhalese New Year which is mid April.
